The principles of Ecotourism are based on the concepts of environmental conservation, understanding and appreciating the different communities and ensuring that the natural resources are sustained for future enjoyment and appreciation. And for those keen on participating in ecotourism the key facts to keep in mind so as to ensure that your efforts are actually ‘ecotouristic’ are:

Ensure that the visit has not negative impact – a large number of guests at a farm may disturb the natural habits of its animals affecting their eating patterns, mating patterns etc.

Ensuring the visit involves building cultural and environmental awareness and the visit should essentially be a positive experience for you as well as the hosting environment, cultures and people.

Ensuring that your visit will financially have direct impact on the conservation of the environment and provide empowerment for the local communities.

Sample itinerary

Day 1.


Puerto Vallarta - El Tuito - Villa del Mar.


Just 45 minutes driving south from Puerto Vallarta city, we will find the typical Mexican village of El Tuito. Our first stop is the former hacienda San Jose, with it's pre-Hispanic stone carvings.
Then take a stroll through the town, visiting some cottage industries, from cheese and panela, to leather crafts. We will visit also a Raicilla distillery where you will enjoy a traditional Mexican food, and learn about this ancient liquor.


Then, we will take our path to your Accommodations at Villa del Mar, beautiful front beach cabanas, with palapa roof, and a privilege view of the pacific!




-Day 2

Villa del Mar




Enjoy a traditional mexican breakfast !!

Have some spare time with a variety of optional activities. Take a horseback ride by the beach, exercise in a kayak at the near lagoon, or simply lie down, read a book, enjoy the view and relax....

In the afternoon, we will take a ride to Mayto Sea Turtle Research Camp.
After the introduction tour, you will have the opportunity to be godfather to one of our daughter’s turtle hatchlings, and see it enter the sea. A powerful feeling!
When the sun is gone, you will join the experts in an ATV tour at night by the beach, looking for sea turtles nesting. Become a naturalist for one day and learn how scientists work to protect and safe this species.
Return to your Cabaña at Villa del Mar and rest well

Day 3.


Tehuamixtle.


After breakfast, we will take a ride to Tehuamixtle Bay. Join the experts on a boat ride, in the search for turtles. You will have the privilege to get in contact with these beautiful animals in their natural environment. Our qualified staff will do the catch a turtle for full observation. You will learn about behavior of sea turtles, feeding, migration, threats, lifestyle and more. Spend some time in the water with them. After the boat trip, enjoy the best sea food at the best restaurant in Tehua. Spend the afternoon snorkeling in the bay and discover the underwater world. Find a wide variety of tropical fish, coral and a shipwreck. Return to your cabaña just in time for the sunset. The perfect end for a perfect day. Enjoy your dinner and rest well.
